Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Do you have any puppies available now or any upcoming litters?
A: Info can usually be found on current and upcoming litters under the PUPPIES tab in the main menu. You can send any inquiry through our CONTACT FORM or to solterralunaridgebacks@gmail.com. If you want to be considered for a puppy, please complete our PUPPY INQUIRY FORM.
Q: How often do you breed?
A: At most 1 to 2 times a year. However, it is not unusual for us to go 2 or more years between litters.
Q: Do I get to choose the puppy?
A: Puppy raising for us is very involved. We spend many hours with our puppies observing and interacting with them. As a result, by 7 to 8 weeks we have a very good idea of what each puppy is like and the kind of home they would do best in. In addition, we get to know as much as possible about each potential puppy owner/family so that we can make the best possible match. If we can give you a choice between a couple of puppies, we will. However, most often we pick the puppy that will be best for you based on our observations and experience.
Q: If you have puppies that are not sold at 9 weeks and still need homes, is the price less?
A: On the contrary. If a puppy stays with us beyond 9 weeks, we continue to socialize and do basic training with that puppy. What we do to prepare our puppies for their new home is of great value.
